Hitherfield Library

Reading underpins the school curriculum and is an essential skill for a successful future.  All children are enrolled in the library when they join the school in Reception.  As part of our ongoing reading development programme we have established the library as a “Community” library, as it is available for ALL members of the school community to use.

We actively welcome parents/carers to enrol and borrow books to read at home with their children as we know that children who read, or are read to, frequently at home make better progress in their schooling and foster a love of books.   We have an extensive range of fiction and non-fiction books suitable for ages 0-11.

The library is usually open after school (with the exception of Mondays) and is located in the main playground, next to the pond area.    All children use the Junior Librarian System to borrow and return books if you click on the link below you can see the wonderful range of books we have.
