The Friends of Hitherfield
The Friends of Hitherfield (our name for the traditional Parent and teacher Association or PTA) works closely with the school to the benefit of the pupils. Every parent, carer and staff member is automatically a member of the Friends of Hitherfield and we encourage everyone to get involved. The group is run by an elected executive and they hold regular meetings in the school library. In discussion with the school’s senior staff the group reviews its focus on an annual basis and it updates the whole school community through our weekly newsletter, the Hitherfield Herald.
The Friends of Hitherfield have been instrumental in developing the school curriculum, through the development of the Edible Playground, and they continue to lead on the funding of playground improvements in consultation with the pupils and staff.
The Friends of Hitherfield reflects the warm, friendly and purposeful ethos of the school and we hope that you will be actively involved. Look out for the next meeting in the Hitherfield Herald.
