Hitherfield Primary School & Children’ Centre is committed to providing a secure environment for pupils, where children feel safe and are kept safe. All adults at Hitherfield Primary School & Children’s Centre know that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility irrespective of the role they undertake or whether their role has direct contact or responsibility for children. In adhering to our policies and procedures, staff and visitors will promote a climate where children and adults will feel confident about sharing any concerns that they may have about their own safety or the well-being of others and will contribute to Hitherfield Primary School & Children’s Centre’s delivery of the outcomes to all children, as set out in s10 (2) of the Children Act 2014.
We know that as a Lambeth school we will have children and families who will need support from Social Services, we know that we are part of the national Prevent terrorism strategy and that we are in a community where pupils may be at risk of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). We also understand the many risks associated with the internet and we educate our children about these risks.
