Safeguarding

Hitherfield primary school is committed to providing a Secure environment for pupils, where they feel safe and are kept safe.

All adults at Hitherfield know that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, irrespective of the role they undertake or whether their role has direct contact with responsibility for children.

In adhering to our policies and procedures, staff and visitors promoting climate where children and adults feel confident about sharing any concerns that they may have about their own safety, or the well-being of others.

We know and understand that as a primary school in Lambeth we will have children and families who will need support from social services and other External organisations.

We know that we are part of the national Prevent Terrorism strategy and that we are in a community where pupils may be a risk of female genital mutilation (FGM).

We are very aware that One of the main safeguarding risks for our children is the use of the Internet. Therefore, we have developed a computing and PHSE curriculum that explore the many different aspects of keeping ourselves safe online.
